How Social Media is Good for SEO

Once upon a time all you needed to do was build a decent site, and get a bunch of good sites to link back to you, ah but those days are very much in the past.

Now whilst I would say having good relevant sites linking back to you is still a proactive thing to do, social media really does now add weight and importance too, see our quick video that explains why!

Engage your customers on Facebook and Twitter, and the new Google algorithms take it as another important piece of the jigsaw when it comes to SEO.

Google now receives social media signals and monitors how much your brand is mentioned through this method.

As the Guardian said recently “for those companies who do embrace social media, it is vital to interact, by replying to users rather than just posting marketing messages.”

We couldn’t agree more, as an audience we are constantly bombarded with sales blurb, but if you stop selling and ask questions instead you would be quite surprised at the results.

Ian Duncan from MediaCo says “Google’s technology has got smarter, now it is about content that is engaging, great site design and pages that load fast. The old fashioned and dishonest methods are starting to die away.”

Remember Google as a search engine is all about enhancing the user experience, if they don’t then people will stop using it, so its just counter productive.

Social media its all about building trust in your brand, your products and services.

So how do you build trust in your brand?
